This is beautiful.
Delicate colour.
Rough concrete.
Complex layers of eroded spray paint.

Eric - are you trying to create art by taking pictures of what was meant to be art already by its anonymous authors?

i have to admit you have an eye for detail.
Many of your close-ups are much more interesting than the whole piece, most likely.

Because much of street art is just boring and conventional.

Your approach would be turning something boring into something interesting.
Or is your series just some kind of documentary, rather?

I agree that this is a beautiful piece. When I first looked at the image I thought it was a painting (which it is in a way, but once removed and edited).

Obviously painting today is influenced by photography and vice versa, and this is part of the great conversation between the two.

True, Marilyn.
But when Daguerre invented photography in 1839,
people thought it was the death of painting.
Well... it wasn't.
On the contrary!

Peter, thank you (and Marilyn by the way) for sharing your thoughts and insights with me... and regarding your question, in fact, most of the pieces here are details of grafitti or in some cases weathered surfaces. However, Wall #10 is a rare exception... when I find something in the street that stops me in my tracks... astonished... and I want to share what I've found largely 'as is'. Thanks again.
