About me
G Recht (GRecht)
I really can say, that I`m somehow in love with those moments or situations I`m takin`pictures of.
So I am those moments saviour, to keep them alive for me and may be some others sharing the same interests and similar emotions related to what I`m conserving....
In my opinion I`m not a real artist, like a painter is.
I`m just someone with good luck, a quick eye & a quicker finger, conserving situations by photographing them, like others conserve a good soup in tins, to save it for a connaisseur in future...
If the ingredients are supreme, the soup - if well packed - will be allso.
As soon as I leave my flat with a camera in my hand I start to scan the scenery like a T-800 for not to miss a good shot.
- Biography
Born in the city of Hamburg, Germany, I grew up in my grandparent`s household in a strictly working class neighbourhood of railroad workers.
There I learned quite a lot about the likes and dislikes of the hard working people of Hamburg-Barmbek and the working class in general.
One day my parents did pick me up there and brought me to the house my father - a passionated marine engineer & selfmade man - did construct & build for us, somewhere far from my Grandparents.
There - in the foreign neighbourhood - I did learn a lot of things about the feeling a lonesome Indian must have had, far from his tribe, right in Dodge City or any other western town.
At school I have allways been very ambitious to do what nobody did ask for.
Therefor I had to quit there and arrange the rest of my studies in the school of life.
Especially the lessons I took in nightlife tought me that not everything is like it appears to be at the first brief glimpse.- Exhibitions

If there ain`t somebody stoppin` the craze, it will stop us.
Everybody should be able to live his life in peace, without suffering of fear, pain, hunger or any other threat.
