Time and transience have always been the big issues for you.
This is like a weathered, battered old photograph, but without any traces of nostalgia or ostensible historicity.
Emotion - yes.
Nostalgia, sentimentalism - no.
Your rust paintings have been accused of sentimentalism, haven't they?
Too narrative?
You were probing.
With your new series you are probing into the very nature of time itself again.
I feel that any attempt to grasp the elusive, incomprehensible nature of time is valid and legitimate.
Being subject to its relentless force, we can never fully understand the nature of time, ever.
But it's worth a try.
