I make it as a relief because I want to flatten the space.
It has not much to do with painting.
It's a relief, a collage and/or a sculpture.
The levels make the borders, the one on the other relief is spacial.
It's difficult to representate this wall-piece; white and gray cardboard pieces on a panel on white wall on white artdoxa background. This makes it flatter and flatter and less confrontating, really a shortcomming of a screen presentation
It's no painting in the literal sense.
You probably didn't use any brushes.
But I feel it has a lot to do with painting.
Painterly properties.
Like, flattening the space.
Texture.
So, how much does it protrude into space?
More than a centimeter?
In that way it has to do with painting,
I try to make only the essential stroke to fix it with cardboard.
The panel subsoil is 2 cm and what's on it is about 3-4 cm.

Objection, Leopold!
This is no sculpture.
This is a painting.
Definitely!
