Education and activities
- Biography
Marla Lombard is an abstract painter who works acrylic paint, ink, pigment, and dyes into an alchemy of layered color and texture on small panels.
Marla has exhibited across the U.S. from New York to Hawaii. Her work can be found in private, corporate and institutional collections in the U.S., and in Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Spain and Switzerland.
She has a BA with emphasis in cinematography from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles. She worked in the art world in different capacities: as an art consultant, for a contemporary conceptual gallery and for private collectors.
Her passion for the study of art culminated at Christie's Fine Art Auctioneers, New York, as Assistant Vice President, Old Master Paintings. A constant parade of fine art at Christie’s was the ultimate visual joy and teacher.
Marla lives at the beach in Southern California.

PS: while I clicked on "comment" I read "all the Tiepolos" above. YES YES YES! I have been in Würzburg recently to see their work in the Residenz and I'll be in Venice again at the end of the week and have some more Tiepolo.......

Hi Maria, thanks for the comments and greetings from Berlin!
As for "Pronto?" her life is my life, mostly as sunny as it looks ;-))))
and for "Chess": I wouldn't have the answers, anyway, but is good to ask.....

Hi Marla, thank you for adding my picture as a favorite! It's magic how painters, scientists and photographers are into the same things ...

Hi Marla,
yes, good memory, La Brae in 2003. Been living in NYC past four years, plan to return to CA next fall. And thanks for your thoughts about my portraits, I'm still working on them, taking the existing images and making them dimensional to further abstract the body. What are you up
to? Your paintings here are beautiful!

That is really Gelee Royal for an artist.
People like you make ARTDOXA to the place where it is worth to return to!
