@peer: hmmm.... because of the 'intentional interruption' of the otherwise 'too sleek' ambience..? I do understand the idea, it's just that the context of 'Unorte' makes me think of real places appearing sureal. Anyway, in terms of composition the drain certainly is the icing on a cake, but in the context with the rest of the series i'm still not really convinced. ...Ont the other hand, it's all about these places being real, just presented in an uncommon situation - in this case without people. Oh, difficult...
Upon first experiencing it, this image was too slick for my taste. But now I'm impressed with the science fiction like quality that you captured, photographing such an ordinary place. Those little bits of litter on the right add a human presence. I'm in favor of the drain (sorry Felix). Did anyone else want a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice after looking at this?

@heather: thx for the fresh orange juice
@peer: without the context 'Unorte' i would agree you
@felix: but in this context i must agree you. without the water drain, there would be no criterion for the proportions. it also could be the runway for an interplanetary spaceship?!
the "drain" really is a crosswalk, either for very small people or otherwise set in a really large tunnel. either way, it fully justfies the label "Unorte".

Great picture, even though i am not too sure about the water drain in the bottom of the picture - makes it too 'real' for me...

for me the water drain makes it perfect

Hypnotic.
A visual maelstrom.
In fact a conclusive abstract super-sign.
