San Francisco Bay Area artist and educator working primarily with photography, drawing, painting, and digital media. She has studied and worked in Arizona, California, Italy, Mexico, and Cuba. Whether documenting cultural practices or examining family histories and biological allegories, she seeks to engage her viewers in a dialogue of recognition and imagination.
My art, (like most art, like life itself) is the struggle for integration – time and timelessness, the specific and the universal, chance and intention, creation and destruction.This integration darkness and light corresponds to that of the mind and body, spirit and material, science and art, male and female. A differentiation of purpose with an integration of function can lead us out of opposition and fear of each other and perhaps allow us to survive the age we are entering.
