The maintenance and ongoing development to keep our non-profit and idealistic platform for contemporary art running and safe from hackers etc. costs money that is no longer there. Because of small investments that are necessary now and the running costs, we will have to shut down with a heavy heart at the beginning of summer on June 21.
I was very lucky to find this location under the bridge.
In 40 mins I got the sketch done, and was sure of the tides decent.
An hour later I was shocked to see the tide approaching me, I had at least another hour or more before my exit was flooded.
Looking back I need that shock to get things going and was exciting to do.
And I sold it too!
This past year I’ve consumed a healthy amount of Akira Kurosawa films. I should learn not only rendering with these Kurosawa studies but also his great use of composition. More oil sketches to come.
