“Positive Thoughts” is an artwork inspired after the Pulse tragedy in Orlando Florida. This sculpture is based on a metaphor assemblage of three mail boxes where people can leave positive messages to the LGBT community. The colors represent the LGBT flag. The mail boxes are facing different directions symbolizing how open and reciprocal this community is to receive positive and uplifting thoughts from any source. I used metal and wood to represent how strong and united the LGBT community is. The overall sculpture depict a diversity by the use of colors and materials.
‘’Homeless Awareness” is another sculpture with a social cause. This sculpture is part of a homeless awareness campaign that brings awareness in our community about this important social issue. The idea of a tall mail box depicts the homeless as not having a home; however, you still can write a positive thought of hope through this mail box sculpture.
One day coming home from the beach and traveling into Kissimmee, I saw a lonely mail box in the middle of nowhere. The mail box did not belong to a farm or a house. The mail box was alone and didn’t belong to anyone. Immediately, I thought that this mail box could be perfect for the homeless to receive their mail. Since that moment, I started working on a homeless awareness campaign by creating a mail box sculpture metaphor where the viewers can leave messages of hope to the homeless.
I escaped through this window. I jumped through it and landed on a cemetery. Then, I started running towards the exit gate.
has been for sale for some time, as you have seen. The maintenance and ongoing development to keep our non-profit and idealistic platform for contemporary art running and safe from hackers etc. costs money that is no longer there. Because of small investments that are necessary now and the running costs, we will have to shut down with a heavy heart at the beginning of summer on June 21.
