Significant Stranger Project. I invited anyone I have never met before (via craigslist) to send me a self portrait and a newspaper from the town they live in. I'm slowly creating works of art by combining those two things together. This is Lauren from Maryland.
Significant Stranger Project. I have been corresponding with Elizabeth since 2004. We have never met, probably won't ever meet, but will always be connected.
Significant Stranger Project. I often take walks in the city I live in and notice a great deal of clothing left on the side of the road. It always strikes me and I often wonder who used to wear the clothes--what kind of life did this t-shirt used to live? So, I decided to sort of pay tribute to the life of a t-shirt and the mystery behind clothing that gets left behind.
Part of the "Morning Picture Project." This participant gave me the exact time she woke up in the morning when she sent me her morning pictures. I thought a clock was the perfect way to make her a part of this show.
This is a piece from a project entitled "Morning Picture Project." I collected receipts from purchases I made fro approximately 3 years. I then chose 365 of them to print on (I printed carvings I made using photographs of myself in the morning) and hang them in chronological order.
This is a piece developed from the "Morning Picture Project," which was shown in a solo exhibition entitled, "I am a Terrible Morning Person."
has been for sale for some time, as you have seen. The maintenance and ongoing development to keep our non-profit and idealistic platform for contemporary art running and safe from hackers etc. costs money that is no longer there. Because of small investments that are necessary now and the running costs, we will have to shut down with a heavy heart at the beginning of summer on June 21.
