This was my first entry to a wearable arts competition. I didn't really know what 'wearable arts' was at the time, so I sewed together all my teabag ink paintings, to create a garment I could wear. It is beautiful to wear, light and ethereal. It came runner-up to grand prize. I fell in love with art to wear, it has art, movement, sound, and form. It is multidimensional, and inspirational.
This is the DNA warrior princess. 4096 is 64 squared, the number each cell of the DNA has to choose from. The helmet has 108 twist tops, the 108th is gold and hangs over the third eye. Each twit top was punched with 4 holes with a hammer and nail, over 16000 holes, and woven with tiewire.
has been for sale for some time, as you have seen. The maintenance and ongoing development to keep our non-profit and idealistic platform for contemporary art running and safe from hackers etc. costs money that is no longer there. Because of small investments that are necessary now and the running costs, we will have to shut down with a heavy heart at the beginning of summer on June 21.
