Contemporary art, experimental and progressive art. His paintings make the invisible Visible.
Always nearer to the (he)art of Creation, but never close enough yet. The human brain has the tendency to treat smaller works as if they are objects, things to look AT, like tables, chairs, etc. Larger works are perceived by the human as if one is part of them, one participates in them and do not merely look at them in a judgmental manner. Now that you know this, how the human mind works and forms attitudes when looking at anything - participate in these works - and allow yourself, your Self, to be influenced and transformed and leave your opinions and pre-suppositions behind and with an open mind enjoy this new aesthetic vision and share the aesthetic ideals of this artist and visionary.. A few artists transform and develop the genre of painting and do not merely attempt to produce 'nice' shocking images, Ulrich de Balbian is one of them who transforms the genre of the Western painting tradition and discourse. This is the reason he intentionally chooses to work in the genre of painting, instead of one of the so-called New Genres such as installations, digital or video 'art', performance etc.

How to look at a serious work of art -
at least 4 frameworks are involved -
1) the personal one of formal framework of art - such as composiitons, form, colors, etc
2) that of the artist - his tradiiton, background, etc

3) socio-cultural background
4) the contemporary setting of society the artist and viewer exist in

The human mind treat smaller paintings as if it is looking AT an object or a thing such as a table or chair ,
but larger works are experienced (like installations) as if one is part of them and participate in them.
Now that you know this please do not treat these images as if they
are just more objects or things you look AT,
but experience and participate in them.
