Rack, made out of 15 different sorts of reclaimed wood. Among others: Srapwood from the central carpenter's workshop of documenta 13 in Kassel, former handrails of a hospital staircase in Hamburg, torn down years ago, rests of pallets of a nearby mercery cutoff pieces from a shelving system, I transformed for a Hamburg photographer, various pieces from torn out windows of tenement buildings in hamburg between 1910 and 1950, a sorted out IKEA-rack, 80 year old flooring, scrapwood from theater decorations, built at Studio Hamburg, Pieces from Hamburg public benches, a walnut-board, that a collegue sorted out while moving his studio and many more. The plate has a sandwich core out of recycled plywood and chipboard and is patched between 4 and 5 cm with the visible pieces. Legs are detachable. Weight: approx. 90 kg, took 9 months to complete. Rack made out of reclaimed pine boards formerly used on scaffoldings. Around the outside and upper sides a strip of marqueterie made of very small pieces of multicoloured scrapwood of all sorts. The inner side of the strip is decorated with a rose pattern coming from a recycled tablecloth from the 1950s. The height of the shelf space fits DIN A 4 folders for office use.
