How can I join in?

In this area you can manage your portfolio, favourites, preferences, and contacts, write private messages and keep track of your recent activities.
If you want to access and use the MyDoxa area, you have to be a member. Sign up for free here in case you are not a member already.



How do I notice reactions on my work?

An overview of new reactions on your work, new contacts new messages and other recent activities of you, your contacts and all other members can be found in the MyDoxa area on the left hand side.

When you receive a new message or a new request, ARTDOXA will also send you an e-mail including a link leading you directly to what you’re looking for (you may need to login though).



Contacts

What are contacts?

Contacts are two members who have by mutual agreement expressed and/ or confirmed an interest to stay in closer contact.
You can see all your contacts here: “MyDoxa > Contacts”:/mydoxa/contacts



Why do I need contacts?

Contacts are the key to many doors. A large network builds bridges never thought possible – not at least in the “analogue” world. Furthermore, the contact status is the precondition on ARTDOXA to write each other private messages.



How can I establish contact with other members?

The simplest way of getting in touch with each other is by writing a comment. In case a more private kind of communication is desired, you can also write personal messages to other members. In order to do so, the desired recipient has to be a confirmed contact of yours.

So if you have a concrete issue, send your contact request to the member by clicking the button „add to my contacts“ and entering a small note for the recipient to explain your reason for contacting him or her.



Can I invite a friend to ARTDOXA?

You are most welcome to do so! Simply click on the ‘Invite your friends’ icon in the top navigation bar right under the search field. A context menue will open asking you to enter your friend(s) e-mail adress(es) and suggests a message which you can alter as desired. Hit ‘send’ when you’re done — et voilà, our community is growing!



What are unconfirmed contacts?

Unconfirmed contacts are those contacts, which you contacted but have not got any response yet.


What are contacts to be confirmed?

Contacts to be confirmed are those contacts, which sent you a contact request, but have not received a response from you yet.



Can I withdraw a contact request?

You can, as long as your counterpart hasn’t confirmed the contact. In this case, you would have to delete the contact.
But as long as this is not the case, this member will be shown as an unconfirmed contact in the “MyDoxa > Contacts”:/mydoxa/contacts area. Go to the submenu unconfirmed contacts and click the “Withdraw” button.



What happens if I decline a contact request?

The enquiring member will be informed about your decision – at this point you have the possibility to send a short explanation for your decision.

Communicating, interacting with each other and building a network is one of the main objective of ARTDOXA. We therefore ask you to handle contact requests thoughtfully.

Should you feel molested by another member, please “Report Abuse”":/report_abuse!



Is there a limit for the number of contacts I can have?

You never can have enough contacts … and ARTDOXA will never be the limiting factor here. But remember: you have to care for your relations in order to make the net strong.



How can I remove a contact from my network?

Go to the submenu in the area “MyDoxa > Contacts”:/mydoxa/contacts, select the concerned member, think twice and then click – if you really know what you’re doing – the delete button (a red ‘x’) in the top right corner of the ‘card’ of the ex-friend.

Communicating, interacting with each other and building a network is one of the main of ARTDOXA. We therefore ask you to handle such decisions with care.



Messages

How do I write a message?

There are several ways to write a personal message.
1. Go to “MyDoxa > Messages”:/mydoxa/messages and click on the “new” button. Enter a recipient, a subject and a message, then click the button “Send”.
2. You can also send messages by clicking on the “send message” button underneath the buddy icon of your confirmed contacts. This works as well in the list Artists and/ or in your Contacts list.



How do I respond to a received message?

If you want to respond to a received message, go to “MyDoxa > Messages > Inbox”:/mydoxa/messages and click either the “Reply” button all the way on the right side of the message index or under the displayed message.



How can I delete a message?

In order to delete a received or sent message, go to “MyDoxa > Messages > Inbox”:/mydoxa/messages (respectively > Sent) and click the “X” button all the way on the right side of the message index.



Where can I see my sent messages?

You can read and edit your sent messages in the submenu Sent under the “MyDoxa > Messages”:/mydoxa/messages area.



Comments

How can I comment?

In order to comment, you need to be a registered member and logged in. Not a member yet? Sign up for free now!

Once you’re logged in, you will find a comment box underneath each contribution. Enter your comment here and post it by clicking the “Send” button.

There’s also a “Comment” button on the right hand side of the artwork which will lead you directly to the comment box on the bottom of the page – this can be helpful when viewing pages with a lot of content.



Can I remove a comment someone made on one of my contributions?

Yes you can. If you receive an inadequate comment, click on the red ‘x’ next to the comment.



How can I report offensive content or comments?

If you encounter material that is offensive in your eyes or if you have doubts concerning its copyright, you can report this to us by clicking the link Report Abuse in the bottom link bar.

Pictures

How can I upload pictures?

After login, go to the area MyDoxa. Click the „Upload Art“ button. Now choose between 1 and 10 pictures (if you want to upload even more at a time, just click the „upload another picture“ button – repeat as desired) and click „Save“.

Once the upload is finished (depending on the size and the amount of your material, this may take a while!) you’ll find yourself in the Upload Box. Here you can add all the relevant information to your pictures.



How many pictures can I upload?

You can upload as many pictures as you want in any size you want. Enjoy.


Is there a limit for the image size?

You can upload your pictures in full resolution.



Can I upload more than one picture at a time?

Yes you can. If you don’t have the Flash-plugin installed:
You can upload 1 to 10 pictures on the page “Upload Art”. If you want to upload even more pictures at a time, just click the „upload another picture“ button – repeat as desired and click „Save“.

If you have the Flash-Plugin installed select as may files as you want in the upload window.



Can I assign the same information to more than one picture at a time?

After uploading your pictures, you can edit them in the Upload Box before publishing the pictures. Here, you can add redundant information by simply entering the information in one field and then check the „for all“. This actually saves a lot of time!



How can I edit the information on my pictures or delete a picture?

Please go to “MyDoxa > Pictures”:/mydoxa/artworks. As soon as you move your mouse over one of your pictures, a frame will appear which contains two buttons: A pencil (edit) and an “X” (delete). Click the button whose action you desire and enter your changes if applicable.

You may also click on the desired button on the left hand side of the picture in the enlarged gallery mode.



Can I exchange a picture without loosing all the information such as comments and favourites?

Please go to “MyDoxa > Pictures”:/mydoxa/artworks. As soon as you move your mouse over one of your pictures, a frame will appear which contains two buttons: A pencil (edit) and an “X” (delete). Click the on the pencil and simply choose another file by clicking on the ‘browse’ button. Save, that’s it.


How can I sort my pictures?

Click on the symbol for sorting (small pen) in the area “MyDoxa > Pictures”:/mydoxa/artworks, next to the preview pictures of your catalogues, The following page shows all your uploaded pictures – simply drag and drop the pictures to the desired pages and spots, then click the button “Save”.



Where do I find my uploaded art?

Initially the new uploaded pictures will only appear in your private Upload Box. Here you can add all the relevant information to your pictures before you click the button “publish”. After this, the pictures can be found in the area “MyDoxa > Pictures”:/mydoxa/artworks and can be added to catalogues or exhibitions.



What are tags and tagclouds?

Tags are keywords or category labels that are linked with certain artworks and thus help to find content of several artists that has something in common.

To show the content that is linked to a certain tag, simply click on the tag. Alternatively you can search the favourite tags, which are located on the bottom left side of the homepage.
The tagcloud is a list of all assigned tags. The bigger a keyword is displayed here, the more often it has been assigned.



Why are tags so important?

On ARTDOXA, we all want the same: Find and being found. The tags are important search criteria for your artwork to be found in a thematic context. A picture says more than a thousand words – just name a few here!



How can I determine which preview pics are being shown in the artist list?

These thumbnails are the first 5 pictures you have in your portfolio. So it’s either the latest 5 you uploaded, or you can sort your pictures in the desired order. If you don’t know how to sort your pictures, click here



What is a catalogue?

A catalogue is a (e.g. thematic) compilation of your own work. Catalogues offer you the possibility to sort your pictures or accent certain aspects of your work through work-groups – independent of the order of upload.

The catalogues created by you are being displayed right hand side next to your pictures in the “MyDoxa > Pictures”:/mydoxa/artworks area.



What’s the purpose of a catalogue?

A catalogue enables you to structure your portfolio as regards content and consequently make it easier for you and your visitors to navigate through your work. The construction and the structure of the catalogue are analogue to an exhibition, but a catalogue does exclusively contain your own work and is only being published under your name and profile.



How do I create a catalogue?

Click on the button “New catalogue” in the area “MyDoxa > Pictures”:/mydoxa/artworks, enter all the relevant information and click the button “Save”. On the next page, you can select the artwork you want to add to your catalogue from your portfolio. Once you’re done, click on the button “Save”.

You may add or remove pictures to/ from this catalogue anytime after creating it.



How many catalogues can I create?

As many as you want. But too many do not really serve the visitor.



How do I sort the images in my catalogues?

To sort the pictures in your catalogues, click on the symbol for sorting (small pen) underneath of the preview pictures of your catalogues in the area “MyDoxa > Pictures”:/mydoxa/artworks. On the following page simply drag and drop the pictures to the desired spots and click “Save”.

You can change the order of the catalogues by drag + dropping them into the right order on the area “MyDoxa > Pictures”:/mydoxa/artworks.



How can I delete a catalogue?

In order to delete a catalogue, go to the area “MyDoxa > Pictures”:/mydoxa/artworks and click on the delete symbol (“X”) next to the preview picture of the catalogue.



Profile

What is the profile?

The profile is the place where you can tell other members a little bit about yourself. It is up to you, how much information you enter here, but you should keep one thing in mind: The more details you enter, the better the public can visualize your person.



What information are especially important and why?

It is important for other ARTDOXA members, to understand what your role is as to art – what is your background, your career, what do you do today, where do you live, what are your interests, inspirations … ? This way the network can become more dense and sustainable.

We leave it up to you, how much you show in “MyDoxa > Profile”:/mydoxa/profile. But keep in mind, not only culture does need close relations and commitment – she consists of it.



How can I be found through GoogleMaps?

Once you entered your full address including street, ZIP-code, city, state and country on your profile page, your location will be displayed in your profile {GoogleMaps}.
If you do not want that everyone is able to view your address and the corresponding GoogleMap showing your location, you can choose 3 levels of address-privacy:
1. Everyone can see my address
2. Only registered users can see my address
3. Nobody can see my address



How can I edit my profile?

Click the button “Edit Profile” in the “MyDoxa > Profile”:/mydoxa/profile page, make your changes and click “Save”.



How can I change my profile picture?

Click the button “Edit Profile” in the “MyDoxa > Profile”:/mydoxa/profile page, choose a new picture under “image file” and click “Save”.



Can I change my username?

No, the username cannot be changed – for technical and legal reasons.



I don’t want everyone to see my real name … what can I do?

Click the button “Edit Profile” in the “MyDoxa > Profile”:/mydoxa/profile page. Here you can choose between three levels of privacy:
1. Everyone can see my address
2. Only registered users can see my address
3. Nobody can see my address



Can i control which e-mail notifications are being sent to me?

You sure can! Login and go to MyDoxa. Here, you will find the Preferences in which you can edit your e-mail alerts.



My personal data has changed … what do I have to do?

Please notify us by e-mail as soon as your e-mail address, bank connection, address or name changes so that we can maintain the service for you as usual. We take good care of your data, please read more about data protection!
