What are the criteria by which I can sort / filter artists and artworks?
ARTISTS
You can search content in the areas “Artists” by many different aspects. Here they are one by one:
Most recent – The title says it all – here you will find the latest artists and artworks
Most favourite – This is being derived by the accumulated number of people who added an artwork as a favourite.
Most commented – Discussion is important, especially with art issues. Here you can locate the artists and artworks that got the most feedback.
ARTWORKS
You can search content in the areas “Artworks” by many different aspects. Here they are one by one:
Most recent – The title says it all – here you will find the latest artists and artworks
Most favourite – This is being derived by the accumulated number of people who added an artwork as a favourite.
Most commented – Discussion is important, especially with art issues. Here you can locate the artists and artworks that got the most feedback.
Period – Sustainability vs. Hype, all the above mentioned criteria can additionally be linked with a time filter. Preset is month, but you can sort the results by week or alltime.
What are tags and tag clouds?
Tags are keywords or category labels that are linked with certain artwork/ exhibitions/ contributions and thus help to find content that has something in common. To show the content that is linked to a certain tag, simply click on one of the tags located on the left side of an artwork, an exhibition or a contribution . Alternatively you can search the tagclouds, which you find on the top-right side of the website, right underneath the text search.
The tagcloud is a list of all assigned tags. The bigger a keyword is being displayed here, the more often it has been assigned. The ‘favourite tags’ on the homepage are the current 25 most popular tags of all artworks, on artists profiles the most popular tags of this specific artist. Let me see the tagcloud…!
Why are tags so important?
On ARTDOXA, we all want one thing: Find and being found. The tags are important search criteria for your artwork and contributions to be found in a thematic context. A picture says more than a thousand words – just name a few here!
Why are not all the pictures with a certain tag being displayed?
In case a picture has been reported as offensive or there are doubts concerning the copyright, ARTDOXA may temporarily block the picture until the issue has been resolved.
How can I search by keywords?
You can search for keywords in two different ways: You can either use the tags or you can use the text search. Enter one or more terms into the search box in the navigation bar at the top right hand side and click return.
