- Biography
Vision:
When creating work, my fundamental desire is to embody both modern and classic aesthetic qualities, reflecting an inherent beauty found throughout NYC, where diverse elements occupying the same block are common and natural. True here as in any city, the people define its charachter greater than the fixed elements of a building or street; their gestures, expressions, and attitudes accentuating an already busy climate, offering observers endless theatre. It's this interplay that most appeals and fascinates me, where variations juxtapose strongly one to the other to form new derivatives by combination. A coexistence that is by nature dynamic.
Technical Values:
Much of my work begins with an application of base color and form, representing for me a space and time interwoven and populating the larger landscape. Charcoals, pastels, and various other media are used to identify with fragmented dialog and symbolically to represent gesture and collective movement.
Education:
All accredited schooling is in business. After college and through to the fall of 2001 I worked for corporations, in technical back offices primarily. January 2000 is when I began painting, which has a hold of me like a vice. My desire then is the same as now, to explore creative thought without obligation to rule or precedent.

has been for sale for some time, as you have seen. The maintenance and ongoing development to keep our non-profit and idealistic platform for contemporary art running and safe from hackers etc. costs money that is no longer there. Because of small investments that are necessary now and the running costs, we will have to shut down with a heavy heart at the beginning of summer on June 21.

Thanks for your comments, Joe. I really like your work, it's quite original.
I live in Ohio, which borders W.Va, but my one & only art show was in W.Va.
I know Ralph Turturro's work but not him personally.
Best wishes,
Alan
