Edmundo Lopez (Edmundo)
I am an artist that explore my inner emotions of memories from my childhood. I am a contemporary artist that experiment with several materials. I create art installations, abstract paintings and sculptures.
- Biography
Edmundo Lopez was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic. Lopez came to New York when he was 19 years old. Edmundo created art since he was a child, using any paint and materials that he could find. He graduated with a Master in Fine Art from Lehman College, New York. Edmundo Lopez art is inspired by social issues. He stylize birds, fish, humans and marine plants in surreal ways to evoke emotions of nostalgia. Lopez always search for unusual and challenging materials to experiment and expand his artistic skills even though Clay has being Edmundo’s passion since he was a young child. Lopez has exhibited his artworks in the Bronx Museum of Art N.Y, Lehman College art gallery, Casa Bastida and Cibao Theater in The Dominican Republic, The National Art Club in New York where he was awarded “The Allied Artist Award” among others. Now, Edmundo Lopez lives in Central Florida where he create his artworks and teach art in Orlando. Edmundo received a “Distinctive award” from Osceola Arts for the Hispanic Heritage Celebration art exhibit. Recently, Edmundo has an outdoor sculpture on display in down town Kissimmee, Florida part of the Kissimmee Sculpture Experience. This sculpture was created 2017 for an art exhibition in support of the Pulse tragedy in Orlando to celebrate the first anniversary at The Albin Polasek Museum of Art and Sculpture Garden.

The maintenance and ongoing development to keep our non-profit and idealistic platform for contemporary art running and safe from hackers etc. costs money that is no longer there. Because of small investments that are necessary now and the running costs, we will have to shut down with a heavy heart at the beginning of summer on June 21.
