The maintenance and ongoing development to keep our non-profit and idealistic platform for contemporary art running and safe from hackers etc. costs money that is no longer there. Because of small investments that are necessary now and the running costs, we will have to shut down with a heavy heart at the beginning of summer on June 21.

About me
Kathy Curtis Cahill (ExtremeKathy)
I am a fine Art photographer interested in the dynamics of how our childhood experiences, good and bad, shape the person we will always be, and form the foundation of our character. I use dolls as avatars for children posed in turbulent childhood situations. My goal is to raise awareness of how vulnerable young children are, and how limited their capacity for coping with traumatic situations resulting in lasting psychological scars. Most of the people who cause problems in society have suffered from some form of drama in their formative years.
- Biography
Born in Florida but raised in upstate New York, I come from a working class family and have 3 siblings. i was always interested in art, which was my major in high school and college. Photography was an interest early on. I have always had a camera, and for a time, my own black & white darkroom. My main career was in film and television as a set decorator, where my talent for telling stories non-verbally was developed over my 30 years in that field. I retired in 2011 and have pursued fine art photography in ernest. I am interested in the human condition as it relates to early childhood experiences, and how individuals are formed by them.
Some of this is drawn from my own background, but I have done research to include situations that cover a broad spectrum of traumatic experiences. I have had two solo shows, and am continuing to develop this theme further by widening the series to include happier times and positive influences. My hope is this will be a bookend project, with the good and the bad presenting a more well rounded picture of childhood and how it shapes the person we become.- Exhibitions
