About me
Matt Wells (MrWells)
Scotland based artist
My work is a continued experiment with representational art, wherein the process is often as important as the finished object. As an idea formulates via collage/digital art/drawing/ reading—–This interplay more often than not results in a painting, however the painting itself is a comment on the notion of appropriation and the possibilities of anonymous detourning of reproductions made possible by the internet age.Subject matter is often related to the figure, it’s absence and commonly held views and opinions on its form.

has been for sale for some time, as you have seen. The maintenance and ongoing development to keep our non-profit and idealistic platform for contemporary art running and safe from hackers etc. costs money that is no longer there. Because of small investments that are necessary now and the running costs, we will have to shut down with a heavy heart at the beginning of summer on June 21.
