I've been into cameras and photography ever since finding my first Pentex k-1000 35mm SLR. There's nothing I enjoy more that exploring out of the way places when I have the time. Currently I shoot on a antiquated Nikon D-50 DSLR. I try to make up for the age of the camera and its limitations by concentrating more on the subject matter. The shots are rarly perfect but I feel it goes hand in hand with my low brow approach to art. Just get the shot and have some fun in the field. I don't usually go for studio style shooting, not that I don't admire those who pull off well. I feel my camera is just another tool in my adventuring kit.

My subject matter usually focuses on the abandoned and forgotten objects and places that most people will never see or simply pass by with out a second thought. We as a species can't help but leave the refuse of our lifestyles behind us as we trudge into the future. These places and people and objects are of endless importance in telling the story of us and we do a great disservice to our own stories when we feel no curiosity or wonder when looking into the past. Studying a worn and weathered headstone or walking through an empty building being slowly torn apart by nature reminds us that we are just blips in time and when we're dead and gone, the earth will still be here, mending the wounds we've inflicted.

In other words, explore, study, investigate, document, comprehend and experience the world now. We'll all be dust sooner or later so why not!?
