Pascklin has devoted himself to painting and illustration for more than 40 years. He lives and works in Alsace (France). All of his work is influenced by and inspired by Alsace and everything it stimulates.
His subjects are timeless, the painted moment is the result of all that precedes it, it is the fruit of these transmissions, these presences and these stories that are inscribed in this continuity.
He plays with the attitude, the atmosphere and the gestures of his characters. Alive, dancing, sometimes tender, in love or full of energy and good humor, they are immediately identifiable by their traditional Alsatian costume. He revisits with a contemporary writing this ancient folklore and brings back to life a whole era that has marked the collective memory.
Pascklin works according to personal techniques and makes all his own oil colors. His vast palette of pigments allows him to obtain infinite mixtures of great transparency that he applies in fine glazes to capture the light. White and black, extreme and recurring values, tell the story of Alsace, with its periods of splendor or darkness, their recurrence giving rhythm to the paintings.
Recognized painter and illustrator, his techniques are multiple, oil painting, drawing, engraving, pastel, collages, inks, glass. He exposes mainly in Alsace, but the amateurs of his work are scattered on all continents.
