Oil colors on canvas done with painting (or palette) knives, 2012, 100x100 cm.
It is advisable to view this painting under "View Full Size" in order to capture the 3D-like texture. The digital photo is taken outside around 10:30 am on a cloudy day. I may reload the painting under different illumination to capture the richness of colors and texture. Notably the faces are less pale in the real painting.
Over the water came the lifted song —
Blind pieces in a mighty game we sing;
Life's battle is a conquest for the strong;
The meaning shows in the defeated thing.

My Window paintings are meant to represent portals into another world. I work intuitively and there is no overarching theme to this series. I wanted to give myself the freedom to let my subconscious have fun with these little paintings.
This second piece of my Incarnation series shows a progression towards corporeal or biological themes. One of my intentions with this series is to depict people in the process of being created. I believe we are spiritual beings who are "incorporated" into the physical world. This series represents a convergence of several elements that have been present in works I have done over the years: the skeleton, the body and biological processes, ethereal abstract lines, and the incorporation of trash into artwork.
has been for sale for some time, as you have seen. The maintenance and ongoing development to keep our non-profit and idealistic platform for contemporary art running and safe from hackers etc. costs money that is no longer there. Because of small investments that are necessary now and the running costs, we will have to shut down with a heavy heart at the beginning of summer on June 21.
