About me
Samantha Lu (Samantha)
As an abstract artist, I freely and honestly paint my world on canvas. Abstract forms called to me even before I started learning about them. Organic form is my favorite method of depicting abstract concepts in art.
I love to find abstract forms emanating from nature such as the transformation of the four seasons, and the moods of purity, geometry, and bravery. Transferring these concepts, acts, thoughts and mood into my work has become my commission.
It is such a challenge to arrange these organic forms appropriately and present them. The result tells the audience the artistic value of the paintings, and of my personality and experiences.
I use a variety of brushes, and a knife to reveal lower layers,
which enables me to achieve a wide variety of textures.
I love to improvise while I‘m painting because it always produces a unique and unexpected result.
In 2012, I continue to transferring Organic Form onto a series of "FACE". All of the faces express the temperament of characterization. It is a new try and new adventure.

Samantha Lu was born in 1957 in Taiwan. From 2001 to 2011, she lived and worked in California where she became an abstract artist in 2006. In 2008, Lu finished her MFA at the San Francisco Academy of Art University. Currently, she lives in Taipei, Taiwan."
