Alexandria Frances explores themes of consumerism within her work, focusing on details within materials. She is interested taking useable items and enhancing them to look unobtainable; shifting their representation from a usable object to an object with visual power.

She works with sculpture, digital photography and video to explore what makes something visually stimulating and how what drives human desire to possess objects of worth. Recent work has investigated the objects appeal to the consumer, and has developed an interest in illusion and disrupting space. There is a strong focus on how the viewer interacts with the work in terms of how the art work acquires power from the viewer.
