In the photo series „homeland“ predominantly a single-use camera long
past its sell-by-date and digital black and white photography had been
used to capture ageless impressions. Aligned with feelings of freedom
and equilibrium I faced my native country, feeling an enormous bond
during the emotional realisation of parting, which caused pleasurable
sentiments of arrival.

Es lohnt sich vielleicht, bei hier den inneren Dialog mit zu denken. Er kann nicht abgebildet werden, weil er in einem Format vorliegt, das sich verschließt. Vermutungen sind eben nur Vermutungen. Daher schien mir die Projektionsfläche selbst der bessere Spiegel zu sein. Dennoch erzeugt er ja, wie so vieles, Verhalten. Das sehen wir. Die Interpretation desselben bleibt vage. Wie im echten Leben, hab ich mir mal sagen lassen. Nachdem ich sehr viel mit dem Schnitt herumprobiert hatte, Parallelkonstruktionen, die auch alle irgendwie aufschlussreich aber dafür leider aber etwas platt waren, bin ich zu einem ganz einfachen Schnitt zurück gekehrt. Clara Barths überaus lebendige Performance hilft der Idee so sehr, dass ich mich glatt zweimal dahinter verstecken will. Ein Dank ist auch an dieser Stelle mehr als angebracht.
