INTO THE WARMING NIGHT
triptych 2023 - three monochrome studies
vertical hanging (on top of each other): 120 (w) x 250 (h) x 2 cm
optional horizontal hanging (side by side): 380 (w) x 80 (h) x 2 cm
ink, acrylic and oil on canvas
Three monochrome paintings (studies on canvas), combined as triptych, in a landscape format, that very consciously refer to the (only apparent) lightness of watercolors, Chinese ink painting, and the wonderful handling of melancholy drawn in water. These three studies create a bridge between my small ink drawings on paper and my large statement pieces on canvas. My inner inspiration: Love finds a place, even in the dark, even when there seems to be no hope. No light shines brighter than that of love, even in the midst of a moonless, black night. Love means eternity, because love is immortal.
This trilogy contains 3 single paintings, each in ink, acrylic and oil on canvas and each with dimensions of 120 (w) x 80 (h) x 2 cm. The triptych offers two very different hanging possibilities.
(a) vertical hanging on top of each other: beautiful and very creative hanging method if you have enough ceiling height. If so I prefer a hanging distance each of 5 cm between the 3 single paintings. In that case the complete dimension, including the hanging space between the three paintings: 120 (w) x 250 (h) x 2 cm.
(b) horizontal hanging side by side: traditional and also beautiful hanging method. If so I prefer a hanging distance each of 10 cm between the 3 single paintings. Complete dimensions of this artwork, including the hanging space between the single paintings: 380 (w) x 80 (h) x 2 cm.
The triptych combines following studies and should "read" from top to bottom (hanging on top of each other) respectively from left to right (hanging side by side): "BEYOND THE HORIZON", "BEAUTIES ALONG THE WAY" and "LOVE ALWAYS FINDS ITS WAY"

LARGE MODERN STATEMENT-PIECE
Large colorful abstract work. Do you feel the melancholy that has settled over the city together with the frost? Years pass, nothing stays the same, nothing stands still, and we too, you and I, change ourselves. Just as it has happened all the generations before, and just like all the people around us. What stories may be hidden in this great city?
has been for sale for some time, as you have seen. The maintenance and ongoing development to keep our non-profit and idealistic platform for contemporary art running and safe from hackers etc. costs money that is no longer there. Because of small investments that are necessary now and the running costs, we will have to shut down with a heavy heart at the beginning of summer on June 21.
