Cicero was a Roman statesman and writer murdered by henchmen of Marc Antony during the proscription (mass killings) following the assassination of Julius Caesar. Cicero was fleeing in a litter carried by his household slaves from his villa near the sea, to the shore where an escape boat awaited him. He was caught by Antony's men and beheaded. I use this incident, a milestone in the loss of the Roman Republic's constitution, as a metaphor for the current gradual loss of the U.S. constitution.
has been for sale for some time, as you have seen. The maintenance and ongoing development to keep our non-profit and idealistic platform for contemporary art running and safe from hackers etc. costs money that is no longer there. Because of small investments that are necessary now and the running costs, we will have to shut down with a heavy heart at the beginning of summer on June 21.
