Christof Mayer (farbkomposition)
Farbkomposition AT stands for a candid, spontaneous use of color and shape. This wants to bring variety and vibrancy to everyday life. Christof Mayer's color compositions are decorative and stimulating. These are works that interact by themselves with the audience and connect with the viewer to invite him to enter into a relationship.
Colors are often not applied with a brush but poured onto the canvas or casted; they dissolve through movement of the undercoat or can be smudged. Shapes and patterns arise through dripping and splashing; tools such as brooms, sponges and cloths are used. By combining and repeated application of these techniques structures emerge that are opposed to constructed elements after all. Then the work with the brush comes to it's own.

Chrisof Mayer was born in 1969 in Tulln on the Danube; technical basic education; activity in various occupations until 2007. Since 1998, employment with clay and crafts; painting since 2008; exhibitions since 2012. Abstract painting since 2013.
