Biography

I was born in Sydney at a very early age and resolved to become an artist immediately; unfortunately I had forgotten my resolution by the time I was three! Now I am older and have taken to art again: drawing, especially with Rapidograph pens, painting in acrylics and even hacking away at Hebel blocks to make sculptures. I hope someone can enjoy my images and I'm keen to converse with other artists via the internet and talk about anything to do with art. Besides art and making art, my other passions are scuba diving and underwater photography, wandering through forests and music.

We may yet figure out this form of communication! At least I'm on your wall now! Yes, I can imagine underwater feels as you describe and I think your paintings reflect that controlled but beyond control, too.
Thanks for the kind words.

Thanks Marla, I'm not sure what The Wall is either, yet, but hopefully you can read this:
Yes, it is beautiful underwater, and it can be sort of fearful too. Often I find the concentration of taking photos underwater helps my mind deal with the strangeness of being in an alien realm. At the same time, I often feel completely at home underwater so that's a paradox. None of my underwater-themed paintings is actually directly from a photo I've taken (and I've got a lot of my scuba pix here: http://www.sxc.hu/browse.phtml?f=gallery&l=hamletnc) but there must be an influence.
Anyway, paint on! Your paintings are real eyeball-pleasers!.

Rick! Thanks for question--I obviously don't know how to work the walls yet because I answered your question on my wall--I think!! And I didn't read your profile clearly before I asked my question.
So, I start again:
I use acrylic, ink, pigment, dye and concentrated watercolor on panel.
And I do have an underwater imagery question for you: It must be so beautiful underwater...do you take photos to work from or work from memory or ?
Thanks!
Marla
