My work is a reflection of my surroundings, inspired by the starkness of photo journalism, the traditionalism of early American Realist painters and the existentialist critique of the early 20th c. Dada artists. My hyperrealistic paintings juxtapose silent moments from both private and public spaces to create a moving stillness. Time is suspended and place becomes an illusion of itself. Portrait-like drawings of iconic objects and buildings suggest cryptic symbologies of Americana. Photographs show a world in constant flux, yet suspended in an abstracted state. Printmaking techniques pair objects alone with ambiguous passages of text to stir ideas on our conditioned associations. Collage work composites forms out of images, manipulating visual space and poking reality with a narrative stick of absurdity. Randomness and streams of unconsciousness are are deliberately explored in the form of abstraction, using processes of automatic drawing, ink gestures and dye spills in Rorschach-style paint blots on sheet music and fabric. Conceptual performance installations embody the temporality of life and the conflicts within all forms of balance. Together, my whole body of work is an expression of the universal forces of identity and change.

has been for sale for some time, as you have seen. The maintenance and ongoing development to keep our non-profit and idealistic platform for contemporary art running and safe from hackers etc. costs money that is no longer there. Because of small investments that are necessary now and the running costs, we will have to shut down with a heavy heart at the beginning of summer on June 21.

Hi Albert,
wow...that`s realy great and amazing - what a fine technique in combination with a unique position in painting and a socio-critical mind with a note of well educated madness.
Thanks for the favs !
Best from Thorsten
