a few weeks back i flew to tbilisi to prepare for an exhibition. in my luggage i had one picture which is very dear to me. it showed a maria-face on a piece of cardboard which i had found in the garbage and its name was "ave maria in the industrial age". it is my reflection on modern spirituality.
on the airport i came around one corner and there were three woman sitting/lying on the ground, in full-body-cover like some muslims do.
i realize i am still in shock. these women were by all means and purposes ... slaves. would i have passed by, shyly avoiding eye contact, had it been three half naked black men with iron chains around their ankles?
has been for sale for some time, as you have seen. The maintenance and ongoing development to keep our non-profit and idealistic platform for contemporary art running and safe from hackers etc. costs money that is no longer there. Because of small investments that are necessary now and the running costs, we will have to shut down with a heavy heart at the beginning of summer on June 21.
