Diese Serie hat ihren Ursprung in Budapest,
eine der Stationen meiner Osteuropa Reise im Sommer 2008.
Auf dem Weg durch die Berge zur Budapester Burg,
sah ich zwei Künstler nebeneinander - einen Violinisten und einen Maler.
Sie sprachen kein Wort. Ein Jeder tat, was er am liebsten tut.
Für mich hatte diese Darbietung etwas sehr Sinnbildliches,
also skizzierte ich sie schnell in mein Reisetagebuch.
Zurück in Hamburg, entstanden daraus bald einige Malereien.
Drei davon wurden zu „Duett in Budapest - Musik, Malerei... - Leben eben.“

„This series has got its roots in Budapest,
which meant to be one station of my eastern europe trip in summer 2008.
When I wandered through the hills up to Budapests castle
I saw two artists - a violinist and a painter - next to eachother.
They didn't talk but did what they like most.
I found this scenerie to be fairly symbolic,
so I decided to sketch them in my notebook.
Being back in Hamburg,
soon, a couple of paintings arose.
Three of them became „Duett in Budapest - Music, painting... - life itself.
