About me
Susan Tompkins (susantompkinsart)
My imagination is fueled by a broad range of aesthetics : Asian, African, and ancient European sculpture, or the mixed media approaches of artists such as Henri Matisse, and Robert Motherwell. I enjoy deconstructing materials and reconstructing them to form my images. Each piece incorporates different materials such as watercolor, acrylic, charcoal, crayon, inks, torn paper or found objects. I enjoy the unexpected results of how some materials spontaneously blend, resist, pool, bleed or absorb. The process of much or my work is derived from the unconscious or moments of reflection. I create as a form of meditation , catharsis, and a dedication to those who have inspired me.

has been for sale for some time, as you have seen. The maintenance and ongoing development to keep our non-profit and idealistic platform for contemporary art running and safe from hackers etc. costs money that is no longer there. Because of small investments that are necessary now and the running costs, we will have to shut down with a heavy heart at the beginning of summer on June 21.
