Simona D'Auria (syd)
My work was born from the beginning as an investigation of the human soul, the most fascinating mistery, just to fix it for a moment, in the dizzy hurry that sweep and transform everything. The intent is to impress the importance/unimportance of human being, trying to understand what freedom is.
The quest is steady and sometimes obsessive. I'm unstably balanced between conscious and unconscious images. To get out I paint, looking at what it is happening on the canvas. I'm incapable of either premeditated or long run projects. When this happens it's on an unconsciuos level. There's alway too much confusion. I need a visual emergency to start painting.
The goal is trying to avoid any kind of reparative hypocrisy, to reach the deep of any impression. “I go to infinity and back..” said my master Agustin.
Law degree, I’ve left my legal job in 2000, to devote myself to art, trying to turn a passion into a profession. In my artistic studies I’ve been supported by the master Agustin Olavarria Valdivia, artist and professor of visual arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Santiago (Chile).
